Recruitment firm eyes global expansion after Skills Bank training
Specialist recruitment company Aardvark Swift have boosted their plans for international expansion after receiving training and support through Skills Bank.
The Rotherham-firm, who specialise in recruitment in the video game industry, have put 18 members of staff through training secured via the South Yorkshire’s Skills Bank programme.
Kelly Jones, talent and training manager at Aardvark Swift, said: “As a company, we’ve got a vision for how we want to grow over the next three to five years, with a real focus on our global clients and reputation.
“As we do work in a specific sector, we do already have a share of the international market with clients in Europe, Canada and Japan; but we want to become more global and really grow into new markets.
“When looking at our growth plans, we could see that there were skills gaps that needed to be addressed to match our ambition. There are three main areas to our business; the recruitment team; our marketing department; and our management teams.
“We concluded that all three areas would benefit from Skills Bank support and that it was imperative that teams possess the skills needed to ensure we continue to grow.
“We took our time with our application, with support from Skills Bank advisor Amanda Ryalls and it was worth the effort. We identified where our skills gaps existed, outlined our growth aims and how these link to training. From then on, it was straight-forward and we’re looking forward to growing our business how we want to now we have the skills in the team to progress.”
Skills Bank provides employers across the South Yorkshire access to high-quality training and funding to enable them to develop their business.
Training accessed through Skills Bank can be in the form of an existing qualification or industry-recognised training programme or can also be designed to meet bespoke requirements.
